Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre

Opening in July 2026, Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre will be one of Australia’s most exciting regional event destinations. Located on the Geelong waterfront, just an hour from Melbourne, the venue features a 1,000-seat theatre, state-of-the-art event spaces, and a 200-room Crowne Plaza hotel, all seamlessly connected for an exceptional delegate experience.

Getting here is simple. Avalon Airport is just 20 minutes from the city centre, while Melbourne Airport is an hour’s drive. Delegates can also arrive by road, rail, or ferry. Once in Geelong, more than 1,500 hotel rooms are within walking distance.

Built on Wadawurrung Country, Nyaal Banyul honours the tradition of gathering and celebrates a culture of connection guided by sustainability, inclusivity, and design. The venue is being built to achieve carbon-neutral certification for building operations, with sustainable practices across energy, waste, and water. Universal accessibility is embedded throughout, so every delegate enjoys the venue with ease, without barriers or compromise. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame Corio Bay, while inside, flexible spaces, advanced AV, and integrated technology support events of every scale.

Operated by the Victorian Convention and Event Trust, the team behind Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Nyaal Banyul blends world-class expertise with a distinct sense of place. In Geelong, delegates will find a region alive with creative energy, a coastal lifestyle, and local flavour, redefining what a regional event venue can deliver. From long lunches on The Bellarine and boutique wineries to cultural tours and post-conference escapes along the Great Ocean Road, Geelong offers experiences that reach well beyond the conference room.
